Cycling, wine tasting, beautiful scenery… All-in-one! Second time for me to attend that specific event which is hosted annually by the group Cycling for Wine.
Cycling
We chose to follow the… large route; profoundly not for biking more but for visiting all the wineries available. Around 60kms, most of them (no guess needed!) through the vineyards; an easy and lovely ride nonetheless.
Wine tasting
Route passed through the following wineries: Anagennisi, Papaioannou, Palivou, Karamitsos, Bairaktaris, Rapti, Nikolaou, Gofas, Zacharias and Barafakas. A bonus visit to Karma microbrewery. Hospitality was more than great in all of them!
My alcohol capacity did not allow me to taste every single one although I was really tempted to do so. Anyhow, even though I am, by far, less than expert on this field, some of them was really amazing; Rizes, Three Witches, Melianthos, Vasilio, Rosato, Black 3, Monolithos, Ichnos are only few on my list.
