Early June, favourable weather forecast, free weekend ahead… What else you need to pack some things and have a trip?

Few words about Kyparissi

Located on the foothills of Mt. Parnona in the heart of  Myrtoan Sea, Kyparissi is a quite small but purely picturesque greek village in Peloponnesos. Road access established in recent decades but still remains hard to reach since the narrow and full of turns provincial road require careful and demanding driving.

Hiking

On arrival day we picked an easy and quick route along the seaside towards Agios Georgios chapel. Scenic view for a pleasant evening walk or morning jog.

On the next day we follow X2 route to Kremasti. After passing Agia Varvara chapel we were rerouted to X4 and, eventually, to X3 crossing Mpampala plateau. Amazing rocky trail with awesome panoramic view on the first and last parts. Path is well marked although a stupid one had reversed one of the directive arrows in one point. Map is provided in hotels; otherwise is available to download here.

Swimming

Crystal clear water of Myrtoan Sea could be considered more than tempting. Enjoy!

Accommodation and dining

There are enough apartments and hotels to choose from. We have booked to Myrtoo Studios, a decent stay nonetheless. A couple of tavernas will cover your need on dining and few cafes for the rest. In general, nothing exceptional but quite descent; all in perfect match with the traditional character of the place itself.

Few tips…

No water taps along the way and you have to be on shape!

Highly recommended for rock climbing. Unfortunately, we didn’t brought any of equipment with us and there were no option to rent anywhere around or to hire a guide.

Don’t forget to make a stop in Yeraki on the way.
